I Got the Dress!!

Well there's no turning back now....the dress has been purchased.  I can't wait to wear it on our special day. Sorry I cannot post pictures, Drew has expressed that he VERY much does NOT want to see or even hear about the dress before it is time. He will just have to wait :)

Things are about to get moving after the holidays so until then, updates may be few (as opposed to the multiple always-on-time updates).

We Like For Things To Have Meaning

So I [Bethany] know the colors I want to do.  Brown tones, Moss Green, and a deep pink/red.  What's awesome is that I know what kind of flowers to do (if I do flowers).  I want to do red Alstroemerias which look like this:

Whats super cool is that I looked up the symbolism of this flower.  The description was as follows:

 Symbolizing friendship and devotion, the alstroemeria’s leaves grow upside down, with the leaf twisting as it grows out from the stem, so that the bottom is facing upwards – much like the twists, turns and growth of our friendships. 

Friendship and devotion.  That is probably one of the fundamental things in our relationship.  Drew is truly my best friend and we have been devoted to each other and to the growth of one another from the beginning.  Whether or not we use this flower in our wedding, it has some awesome symbolism to our love for one another.

Let's Try This Again...

OK so the date changed to August 10th, 2013.  We are about 90% sure of this but don't worry! We are sending out legitimate save-the-date cards that will have the set date :).

We have food taken care of for the reception and our hope is to have the ceremony at Stonebridge Church.   Also, our pastor at Faith Connection Church, Jimmy Larche, is going to officiate for us. We are so excited and honored that he would agree to come down.  He and his family are a true blessing to the both of us and we are so thankful for what they have been in our walk together.

Up next is a trip to Kennesaw for engagement pictures, officially booking Stonebridge for August 10th, and working out ideas for food.

My {Bethany} goal for the end of  November is to have a significant headway on finding a dress and getting addresses for everyone so we can send out save the dates.

Here we go...

This blog is for our family and friends so that we can keep you all updated and involved.  We love you and it is a very dear desire in us that you to have input in our upcoming celebration! First and foremost we want to say thank you for all of the investment you have made in us either individually or as a couple.  It means the world to us and we want to honor you in any way that we can.

On the right, we will have a list of things that need to be done or decided.  If you have any ideas or connections ;) feel free to let us know!

I [Bethany] plan on updating about once a week (probably on Sundays), but I cannot promise that I will be able to. I will try my hardest because I really want everyone to be involved.

Thank you for your kind words and joyful hearts! Again, it means the world to us.  We ask that you stay in prayer for us.  We want to always be in the mindset of bringing Him glory as we enter into marriage. Ultimately, this is not about us but it is about His engagement to us as we await the marriage supper of the Lamb.  Pray for humility and diligence in the Word as we begin planning this exciting celebration. :)
